Social media used to help ‘Feed the Need’
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) – The power of social media prevailed once again.
When restaurant group owner Sal Parco posted on his Facebook page that he would participate in Wednesday’s Tricounty Family Ministries “Feed the Need” event, he never expected the response that he got.
Several of his customers replied, saying, they wanted to help out, too. So Parco arrived at the event, armed with food for hundreds of homeless, as well as a posy of employees and customers who also wanted to give back to the community.
“People have had rough times.. and probably had more rough times than the rest of us. So, I think it’s really important and a nice thing to help out here,” Parco said.
He added that he hopes to participate again next year.
The Tricounty Family Ministries holds the “Feed the Need” program once a month.
